My name is Lynda Shannon. Like you, I have a motility disorder. When my condition was diagnosed five years ago, I knew I’d have to learn a new approach to cooking. As a gourmet cook there was no way I was going to give up the food I love and the dishes I enjoy cooking for my family and friends.

So I put on my apron and got to work. I identified the foods that trigger my motility disorder. I studied all kinds of cookbooks. When I came across delicious recipes that included ingredients unsafe for IBS, instead of turning the page thinking, “Oh, I can’t have that,” I experimented with creative alternatives. I found ways to make the same recipe taste great without the IBS-triggering ingredients.
